Oh, poor Elmo. It’s not your fault toymakers can’t play as fair as you…If you haven’t already read the story, Mattel has recalled about one million toys yet again due to lead paint from China!  Eighty-three (!) different products are being pulled, mainly Elmo and Dora-related.  Go to Mattel’s service website for a list of products, but be warned that the site is busy (duh!).  Thankfully, many of the toys were pulled off the shelves before they made it to your house.  Now, my kids love Dora and Elmo too, but I’ve said “no way” to this crap and pretty much buy books and DVDS about them instead…what changes have you made to make your playroom safer?  How about buying a coloring book and some beeswax crayons instead?

In related news, the Chinese government actually executed the former head of the Food and Drug Administration back in July for taking bribes from pharmaceutical companies.  Apparently, the drastic actions taken by the government were highly applauded…
