Granola YarnI know I have knitters, crocheters, and crafters out there, and you’re probably getting ready to make some beautiful Fall items. My most treasured baby gifts are handmade blankets that get softer and more cuddly with age. How happy was I to find Granola Yarn, a collection of organic, recycled, sustainable, and artisan yarn, perfect for cozy-weather projects! I’m no yarn expert, but to find all of this in one place - organic merino wool, soysilk (a vegan alternative to silk), and my fav, Peace Fleece, a company who supports independent shepherds in Russia, Israel, and the US - is like a knit one, purl two jackpot. Granola Yarn also sponsors an amazing charity project - knit or crochet a 12″square from your old yarn, send it to them, and they’ll make a blanket to donate to various charities. You’ll then get a 12% off coupon for your next order!

Preserve JuniorToothbrushes are a big, um, target for us at Target. I so many Elmo, Dora, My Little Pony, you name it, if it comes on a plastic toothbrush it sits in the bathroom cup. But when I found the Preserve Junior toothbrush by Recycline, I realized it was time for a change. The Preserve Junior is ergonomic, with soft bristles, and made from 100% recycled plastic - specifically, Stonyfield Farms yogurt cups. The toothbrushes come in packs of four, but if you order through them, you can have one mailed to you every two, three, or four months, so you can actually remember to change your child’s toothbrush. Plus, mail it back to them in a postage-paid recycled mailer (of course) when you’re finished, and they’ll recycle it again for you! Talk about circle of life…

As a fun bonus, each brush features a fun fact about one of three endangered animals: the Karner Blue Butterfly, the Utah Prairie Dog or the Grizzly Bear. A portion of Preserve Junior toothbrush sales goes to the National Wildlife Federation. Find Preserve toothbrushes for you and your kids at teensygreen’s EcoShop!

Evoke Baby

Did you know that waaaay back in the day, red was considered more masculine, and pink was also a “boy” color? So, baby girls went around dressed in blue, and boys were all pinked out. Nowadays, it’s tough to be gender neutral with most baby items. Husband and wife team Evoke Baby has fortunately stepped up with a series of “color-theory” onesies and shirts that are meant to focus on a child’s emotions rather than gender. Their organic line of onesies and tshirts are based on earth and flower designs, not who is a rock star or princess. The images and especially vibrant colors of nature are refreshing and inspiring. Hey, I guess it works!

I’m in such a good mood about Evoke Baby, I’m going to give away not one, but two onesies or shirts of the winner’s choice! Leave a comment here by Thursday at midnight, PST. If you can’t wait to order some, teensy readers can get 15% off their order by using the code EBABY15. Good luck!

Congrats to Ashley Nichole Navarre, winner of Evoke Baby’s onesies!
